eSIM Information

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is the embedded digital version of the physical SIM card used in your device. The eSIM functions like a traditional SIM card.

The main benefit of an eSIM for a wireless customer is that it allows for combining multiple phone numbers on a single device. It also allows for a more digital experience and flexibility during the activation process. It also provides improved security because it cannot be removed and used in another device, if your device is lost or stolen.

NorthwestCell is launching eSIM functionality on the iPhone 14 series. If you purchase an iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro model, your iPhone does not have a physical SIM tray, and will only activate with an eSIM. Additional iPhone models that support eSIM are the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later.

Please visit one of our stores for assistance on activating your iPhone using eSIM. Current NorthwestCell subscribers can also call 1-800-331-6341 to request eSIM activation over a Wi-Fi network.  Request must be made by the Account holder, or Authorized User and password for authentication must be provided.  The eSIM QR code for activation can then be e-mailed to the e-mail address listed on the NorthwestCell account.
